Instability after upgrade to WABA version 2.47.1

    After consultation with Meta's Engineering Team we have rolled back all deployments to v2.45.1.

    Working with Meta, we will re-evaluate further upgrade/roll outs to new versions to ensure as minimal impact as possible.

    META has been unable to provide a fix for the issues seen in version v2.47.x, therefore, to ensure stability to our clients we have begun the process to downgrade all WhatsApp Business API accounts to the latest stable version 2.45.1
    The downgrade is already in progress and may take until Friday EOD (UTC).

    360dialog - Root Cause Analysis

    Issue description and impact:
    At ~3:00pm UTC on 08/Feb/2023 we became aware of reports about a general instability in the platform. Upon investigation, the issue appeared to be related to a global issue at Meta / WhatsApp.

    Cause of the issue:
    We do not know the root cause of the issue as it did not occur on our infrastructure. We contacted Meta for comment but they have not provided details about the incident.

    Mitigation Steps:
    Meta resolved the issue by ~3:20pm UTC
